Today’s the day—your brand-new storm door is ready to be installed, and we couldn’t be more excited for you! At Storm Door Guy, we’re committed to making installation day smooth, professional, and stress-free from start to finish.

🔄 What to Expect on Installation Day

Here’s how we take care of everything:

✅ We Bring the Door to You: No need to worry about transport. We personally deliver your new door to your home.

✅ We Double-Check Everything: Before we install, we carefully verify the product—making sure it’s the right size, model, and free of any defects.

✅ Professional Installation (1–2 Hours): Most jobs are completed in about 1 to 2 hours, depending on door type and site conditions.

✅ We Haul Away the Old Door: If you’ve got an old storm door, we’ll remove and haul it away at no extra charge.

✅ Post-Installation Walkthrough: Once the job is done, we’ll walk you through:

  • How to operate the door
  • How to change from screen to glass
  • How to lock and secure it properly
  • And we’ll answer any questions you have

🧼 Get Ready: How to Prepare Your Porch

To help us do the best job possible, please make sure the area around your door is ready for us:

Remove All Porch Furniture

Please clear furniture, planters, and all décor near the door to allow full, safe access.

Take Down All Wreaths & Door Decorations

If mounted on trim or in the door’s path, please remove or disconnect them before arrival.

Disconnect or Remove Obstructions

Remove porchlights, doorbells, and obstructions if it was requested.

🎨 About Paint & Finishing Touches

While we don’t offer painting or paint prep as part of our installation service, we’re happy to refer you to trusted local painters if needed.

If you plan to paint your trim or casing after installation:

  • Wait at least 48 hours for caulk to fully dry before painting.
  • Be cautious when taping or painting around the storm door frame to avoid damaging hardware.

💡 Final Tips

  • Make sure pets are secured and out of the work area.
  • Keep kids and guests safely away from the workspace during install.
  • You don’t need to be home the entire time, but we do ask that you're present at the beginning and end of the install for walkthrough and questions.
